Cafe-Bar Os Casqueiros, where I ended yesterday with a chorizo bocadillo (and Real Madrid losing to Borussia Dortmund!) and started today with cafe con leche and a really tasty chocolate-filled pastry.
La Iglesia de Santiago in Arzúa. I stopped in the church as I was leaving town, and an old lady came up to me, wished me "buen camino" and gave me a scallop shell.
The Camino Francés markers (at least from Melide) count down the distance to Santiago every 500m.
Between Arzúa and Santa Irene.
Pilgrim fountain after Santa Irene.
Finca after Pedrouzo.
The Santiago de Compostela airport is just outside Labacolla, and the trail goes right past the end of the runway, running along the security fence for about 100m. Pilgrims had woven crosses made from sticks and branches of all sizes into the fence.
So I added a small one - with the leaves - for Antonio Ribas.
